I've seen Dr. Ballard 3 or 4 times in the past year for some stubborn ulnar pain due to an extra long ulna. Longer is not better in this case! I came to Dr. Ballard on a reference from a trusted source and due to her great online reviews (please do some searching on other reputable review sites, or even the very first search result when you type her into google). I was not disappointed! She is very professional, always smiling, and most important to me: knowledgeable and with patience for questions. I totally agree with her strategy, which is to identify the problem and start with the simplest, least invasive treatment option, and moving on to bigger options if the situation does not improve. This all instead of jumping straight to a major surgery. My pain is not yet eliminated since I am still undergoing treatment, but I am very satisfied with my experience with Dr. Ballard so far. If you've got some hand or wrist problem, give her a shot and see for yourself.

I've seen Dr Ballard twice now. She is personable and friendly. She was quickly able to diagnose the problem I was having with my thumb and wrist and treat it conservatively (without surgery!). I would highly recommend going to see her for your hand/wrist/upper extremity problems.

Brooke treated my 11yr old son for a tiny finger fracture. The injury was 'on the fence' whether needing surgery or not. She talked to us about the options, various risk factors and likelihood of various outcomes, and offered her expert opinion suggesting to just cast without surgery. His finger healed perfectly. At the first meeting with Brooke, she was warm, funny, energetic, and showed genuine interest in my son as a person. She treated him with respect, engaged him, and made us all feel like family! Brooke just plain has a 'likability' and genuine authenticity about her that you can't teach. I give Brooke the highest recommendation!! She is what you would hope for in any doctor you are working with. :-)

Due to complications from a badly-healed fracture (from fifty-years ago), I was losing strength in my hand and experiencing numbness in my fingers. Two years ago, in Boston, I saw a hand specialist for the same problem: he did not seem confident that the problem could be solved, and so nothing was done. Now, two years later and with a rapidly worsening condition, it was my fortune to be examined by Dr. Brooke Ballard. She carefully reviewed the problem; requested specialized testing by a neurologist to assess the damage to the nerves-- and then performed surgery to remove accumulated scar tissue around the arm nerves. One month after surgery, my hand is already fully recovered and I have regained complete mobility in my fingers and the numbness is gone.

Aside from superb competence and careful and caring approach, Dr.Ballard also stands out as a genuinely caring old-fashioned doctor: arranging for physiotherapy, follow-up checks, etc.

This is an exceptional doctor indeed.

I've been seeing Dr. Ballard for a broken wrist and the entire team is extremely helpful and professional. Most of them always have a smile on their face and make you feel like an important individual, not "just another patient."

Dr. Ballard also seems like she wants to provide only the best care and will take actions to make sure you are healing properly.

I have seen Dr. Ballard about 6 times over the past year. She is very personable and caring. She was knowledgable about my condition, but went out of her way to get more information for me and called me a week or so after my first visit. I have had multiple surgeries for the condition on the other hand, and she is treating me to try to avoid surgery on my dominant hand. I am a retired RN, working 30 years at Grossmont Hospital, so I feel qualified to do this review. I have the highest regard for Dr. Ballard and her whole staff. They are all very friendly, caring and very professional.
